September 25, 1932 - February 26, 2017
Ronald Wilson, 84, of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 in his residence.
He was born September 25, 1932 in Springfield, Ohio. As our hearts ache for the physical loss of him we will find solace knowing that he is now with God. He is at peace and for that we are grateful. Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He had a bachelor of arts from Wittenberg University. Ronald retired from the Army National Guard in 1993. He was a member of the Fifth Lutheran Church in Springfield, a member of the Anthony 455 A & M of Springfield, the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, he volunteered at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and was an ombudsman for nursing homes.
He is survived by his children, Werner Walter (Theresa) Wilson of Marysville, Ohio, Joel Allen (Debby) Wilson of West Liberty, Ohio and Wanda Eloise Wilson (Patrick Hughes) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandchildren, Jacob Werner Wilson, Ashlee Kathryn Wilson, Meranda Jean Wilson, Austin Allen (Jenna) Wilson, Colin Wade Wilson, Jocelyn Marie Wilson, Jenson Darrel Wilson, and Julia Kathleen Hughes; his brother, Lawrence A. (Donna) Wilson; his sister, Shirley Ann Baer (Owen Girten) as well as several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund Gist and Celesta Eloise (Clary) Wilson and his wife Judith Kay (Teach) Wilson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 3, 2017 in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Eckstein officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations may be made to the WhereHouse, – Urbana United Methodist Church, 238 N. Main Street, Urbana, Ohio 43078.

Ron will be so missed at the condo. He did so much for us and I so enjoyed working with him on the board. My thoughts and prayers are with you. My husband and I are in Florida until April and it will not be the same not to be greeted by him when we get home.
