Rosie Lee (Herron) Roberts, 86, of Springfield passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield.
She was born April 27, 1923 in Beaverdale, Georgia, the daughter of Grady London and Viola M. (Williams) Herron.
Rosie’s priorities in life were her family and her church. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of God, Selma Road. Rosie was a former member of the Daughters of America and thoroughly enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her daughters, Miriam Pflum of California, Martha (Glenn) Cartwright of Cleveland, Tennessee, Shirley Levingston of Urbana, Brenda (Rick) Smith of Mechanicsburg, Anita (Mark) Merritt of Springfield and Lisa (Dana) Swank of Mechanicsburg; sons, Ray (Jeanette) Roberts of Catawba and Buddy (Mary) Roberts of Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; sister, Faye (Ed) Malone of Crandall, Georgia; brothers, Bill (Judy) Herron of Buckspocket, Tennessee and Wayman Herron of Tennessee; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clella Roberts; daughter, Angela Roberts; brothers, Clyde, Vance and Buck.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 in the Skillman, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in the funeral home with Pastor Simmie Bowen officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Masonic Home Activity Fund, 2655 W. National Rd, Springfield, OH 45504.
