Darlene Scott 68, of North Lewisburg, went to be with her Lord peacefully, Friday, July 15, 2016 in the OSU Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born February 4, 1948 in Urbana, Ohio. Darlene was a 1966 graduate of Continental High School, Continental, Ohio. She attended the North Lewisburg United Methodist Church and was a member of the UMW. Darlene spent her career as beautician. She owned and operated two beauty shops near Oakwood, Ohio and in Woodstock, Ohio. Her favorite activity was cooking and is well known by many for her cooking talents. She also enjoyed sewing, and her flower garden. Darlene will be remembered for her hospitality. She loved hosting tea parties and doing home decor activities. She is also remembered as 4-H advisor offering cooking classes.
She is survived by her husband, David Scott; her sons, Charles “Corky” (Nichole) White, Andy (Amanda) White, Ben (April) White, and Tim (Abbey) White; soon to be 12 grandchildren; her brother, Arthur (Chantel) Kennedy; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Francis Kennedy and Jeanette (Orahood) Rheese; her first husband, Charles John White; her brother, Malcolm (Shirley) Kennedy; and her infant brother, Robert Lee Kennedy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 PM on Monday, July 18, 2016 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD, & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. A funeral service to celebrate Darlene’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in the North Lewisburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Karen Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
