Selma Anna Emma Perdue, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday August 2, 2008 at Green Hills Retirement Community in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born January 18, 1916 in Liberty Township, Madison County, Ohio and the daughter of Mathias and Louisa Marie (Troesch) Brehm.
She married John William Perdue on June 17, 1937. She was best known by all the neighborhood children for her oatmeal cookies. Her greatest joy in life was raising her five boys and her love was unconditional.
Survivors include sons Richard and Carolyn Perdue of Milford Center,
Charles and Brenda Perdue of Madoc Ontario, Canada,
David and Marilyn Perdue of Mechanicsburg
Barry Perdue of North Lewisburg and
Honorary son Paul Slaughter of Marysville
Daughter-In-Law Elaine Perdue of Granby, Colorado
Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews
and special lifetime friends Norma and Floyd Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John William Perdue Sr., and son John William Perdue Jr., brothers Frederick, Lennie, John Brehm and a sister Emily Carrick.
She was a long time member of Mechanicsburg Church of God of Prophecy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday August 6, 2008 in the Freshwater, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home in North Lewisburg. Funeral service will be Thursday August 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Aites officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
