Mass of Christian Burial

Stephanie Ann (Dembeck) Warner, age 104, of Urbana, formerly Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 in Hearth and Home Community, Urbana, Ohio.

She was born May 11, 1904 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the oldest daughter of the late Alexander and Rose Dembeck.

Stephanie lived in Owensboro for 68 years. Her interests and hobbies included reading and politics. She did volunteer service all her life including work at Owensboro Hospital in Owensboro, KY. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Owensboro for over 50 years and was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel in 1996. She was a member of Blessed Mother Church from it’s beginning in 1948 in Owensboro, KY.

Stephanie also lived at One Park Place in Owensboro for 12 years and loved to play bridge. She traveled extensively throughout her life.

She is survived by her only daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Martin M.) Knapp of Urbana, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Gregory (Carol) Knapp of Dearborn, MI, Edward (Patricia) Knapp of Cincinnati, Stephanie (Mark) Skapik of Dayton and David (Lynn) Knapp of Cincinnati; 11 great grandchildren; she is also survived by 3 sisters, Jean Arner of Denver, CO, Helen Bryan of Denver, CO, Estelle Wooley of Cincinnati.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Gans Warner; brothers, Alexander Dembeck, Adam Dembeck; sisters, Viola Dembeck, Mary Thurston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2008 in St. Mary Catholic Church the Rev. Gregory Konerman officiating.

Prior to the Mass, Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Resurrection Cemetery of Owensboro, Kentucky.
