Reverend Taylor Cantrell, 90 of Urbana, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 7, 2019 in Mercy Health Urbana Hospital.
He was born May 24, 1928 in Martin County, Kentucky. Reverend Cantrell retired from Navistar after 24 years of service. He was a minister for 70 years and pastored numerous churches in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. He was a member of the Eastside Freewill Baptist Church. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Reverend Cantrell is survived by his daughter Evelyn (Chuck) Grass and son Michael (Donna) Cantrell, his sister Lois (Dutey) Calhoun, 7 grand-children, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora C. (McNeely), infant son, Glenn Cantrell, daughter, Marilyn Reimer and siblings, H.K. Cantrell, Bob Cantrell, Connard Cantrell, Claudine (Dutey) Parsley, June (Cantrell) Pickelsimer.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 - 7 pm on Friday, January 11, 2019 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME Mechanicsburg, Ohio. A going home service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the funeral home with Pastor Adam Grass and Pastor Jim Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
