Theodore R. Waldnig, 77, of Mechanicsburg passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2016 in The Kobacker House in Columbus, OH.
He was born on October 17, 1938 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Julius and Thelma (Hennigan) Waldnig. Ted worked as a Meat Cutter for Big Bear in Springfield and for Kroger in London. For the past 15 years he has maintained the grounds at Robert Rothschild Farms in Urbana. Ted enjoyed coaching sports for his daughters and his son. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Some other hobbies Ted enjoyed were mowing, landscaping and making the garden look beautiful.
Ted is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Nott) Waldnig; daughters, Edie (Chuck) Love, Pam (Steve) Caudill, Kim( Ed) Phillips, Beth (John) Martin, and adopted daughter Traci (Mike) Bogard; son, Jeff (Tammi) Waldnig; grandchildren, Corey and Tony Love, Dusti and Ashley Phillips, Josh Glassburn, Jonathan and Courtney Martin, Sydney and Caleb Waldnig, Derrick Harding and step-granddaughter Megan Walborn; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Maddy, Gabby and Sophia Love, Ashton and Serenity Phillips, Cayd and Avery Herron and Colton, Maddy, Macey Walborn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lori Ann Glassburn; his siblings, William, Donnie and Robert Waldnig and Patricia Aunt Pat Moore.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday April 24, 2016 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday April 25, 2016 in St. Patrick Church, London, with Father Mark Ghiloni celebrant.Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
