Thomas Brennan, 80, of Urbana, Ohio passed away December 28, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born March 7, 1936 in Urbana, Ohio the son of Minnie O. (Brake) and Charles Edward Brennan. He graduated from St. Mary High School. He proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from International Harvester after 45 years of service where he was a former Union Steward for Local 402. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of Champaign County Bass Club. Tom loved horses and was a member of the Appaloosa Association. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Champaign County Urbana Council 1727 where he served as a former Grand Knight and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1215. His interests also included watching humming birds and country dancing. Tom took great joy in his family and loved to attend all of his grandchildren’s events. As our hearts ache for the physical loss of him, we will find solace knowing that he is now with God and at peace and for that we are grateful.
Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Roberta Jean (Snyder) Brennan; daughter, Catherine L. (Jerry) Maus, T. Michael Brennan and Donald C. (Beth) Brennan all of Urbana; grandchildren, Troy Brennan, Jake Brennan, Jared Rose, Aaron Brennan, Daniel Brennan, Carly Brennan, Colleen (Aaron) Bausch, Matthew Adams, Cassey Poe, Alec Maus and Riley Maus; great- grandchildren, Braxton Brennan and Aaden Bausch; siblings, Charles E. (Sue) Brennan of Lewisburg, Ohio, Dennis (Ana) Brennan of Las Vegas, NV, Terrance P. Brennan, Centerville, Ohio, Martha “Bonnie” (Richard) Kerns of Urbana, Judith (Roger) Fitzwater of Urbana, Mary Jane Sherman of Yantz, TX, and sister-in-law, Janice Brennan of LaPort, Ind.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Thomas Matthew Brennan and by his brother, John Brennan.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-6 PM Friday, December 30, 2016 in the Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 31, 2016 in St Mary Church, Urbana.
Inurnment will be held at the family’s convenience in the mausoleum at Oakdale Cemetery.
