Wanda H. (Vanhorn) Knox, 66, of Catawba, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana.
She was born August 17, 1944 in Springfield, OH, the daughter of Rex and Irene (Bircher) Vanhorn.
Wanda was member of the Catawba Fire Department Ladies Auxillary, the Catawba City Council and was a lifelong member of the Catawba Country Church. She enjoyed camping, baking, scrapbooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Larry Thomas Knox, Sr.; daughters, Ruth Irene Brown of South Vienna and Mary Beth (Frank) Ballard of South Vienna; one son, Tommy Knox, Jr. of New Carlisle; grandchildren, Christina Renee Brown, Sarah Ann Brown, Amanda Hope Ballard, Marc Allen Blackburn, Hannah Rae Corneilson, Michael Thomas Knox, Cason Scott Smith and Matthew Aaron Knox; great grandson, Brayden Keith Brown; brothers, Nelson (Betty)Vanhorn of FL, Larry Vanhorn of FL and Dale (Sherry) Vanhorn of Springfield; sister, Louise Midgely of FL; as well as several nieces and nephews and lifelong friend, Maxine Knox.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Vanhorn; sisters, Shirley Beckett, Carol Johnson, Sandra Ferguson and Alma Smith.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 P.M. on Monday, September 20, 2010 in the Catawba Country Church. A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday in the church with Pastor Glenn McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in McConkey Cemetery.
