Pastor William “Bill” Alexander, 74, of Urbana passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the OSU Medical Center, Columbus, OH.
He was born on August 13, 1934 in Alameda, CA the son of John and Vida (Holloway) Alexander.
He served his country in the United States Army. He pursued his degree in criminal law and served as a police officer for 9 years in California. He opened an art gallery in the 1980s where he taught framing for 4 – 5 years and was also a lifelong professional photographer. He spent 9 – 10 years working with title insurance. Bill later became a local pastor in 1992 in which he has touched many lives.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Miriam; daughters, Christi (Gregg) Brazzi of Atascadero, CA, and Susan (Joel) Tannenbaum of Fremont, CA; grandchildren Megan and Sean Tannenbaum of Fremont, CA and Jeffrey and Alex Brazzi Atascadero, CA; half sister, Barbara Cluver of Salem, OR; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Following his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the convenience the family in Carrollton, OH. After the service, his remains will be scattered at sea by the United States Coast Guard. Services have been entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
