Dear Jeanie so sorry to read about your loss, I am not sure you know me but you and I were in the Blessings for Heart and Home in the North Lewisburg United Methodist Church where your aunt Doris attended. I loved your work on the committee and I used to do your mother’s hair before I had Meningitis and had to retire. I saw you once after your little girl was born and I hope she is a comfort to you now.I know how you must feel because I lost my 1st husband when my oldest son was just 10 and 3 more younger, now they are all grown and I have 10 grandchildren and 1 more due in a couple months. I know you are numb now and that is how the Lord gets you trough this time without them to hold. But the Lord has given me a new husband now for just 10yrs and close to my family which is a real gift of God to me. I pray for you to be comforted at this time. Write me sometime and we can share the last few years together. God Bless, Darlene

To the Denkewalter family,
The Family & friends of Bill have lost something wonderful with Bill’s passing.
I know in my heart that his drive for continuing education, community involvement & the most sincere thoughts to help his fellow man will not fade.
We met at school when we attended St. Mary’s & I remember a kind, exceptionally intelligent young man who befriended me early on & always seemed to look out for my best interests.
He was wise beyond his years, even then.
I will NEVER forget the “focus” he tried to instill in me, even at that young age.
Over the years, I have related the story of how he helped me build a laser for our sixth grade science fair for Mr. Bernings’ class.
I had procrastinated long enough that I wouldn’t be ready to show & he said he had an idea, so I went to his house on a Saturday to build the project.
Later that day, when Mrs. Denkewalter came into their garage, she only said to do a good job, (& something about not burning the house down).
Bill always seemed to be there for me.
The greatest thing about that day for me was & still is, Bill is my friend & he was DETERMINED that I had a good, presentable project.
I will never forget that day.
He helped me to first place.
My thoughts are of Bill & my prayers are with his wonderful family.
I will miss you Bill.

Bill was a tremendous help to my mother and me approximately two years ago after the death of my father. He helped my mother with her will, living will, etc. I also was a nurse practitioner when Bill spent a short period of time at the OSU CDU unit about the time of his diagnosis. He was a wonderful person. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I knew Bill when he was a student at Wittenberg, working for the Torch and I was the director of the Math Workshop, down the hall from the Torch offices. I really liked Bill, especially his sense of humor. I always smile when I drive through Urbana and see his name on the side of the law offices. I’m very sorry for your loss. He was a very special person.

Dave Bolin - Sep 21, 2014

I am very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. My deepest sympathy and prayers to Jeanie, Faith, and the rest of the family.
I have not kept in contact with Bill since college, but even in those days Bill was active in community. When I first met Bill, in high school, it was at a charity event.
Bill’s service to others exemplifies an admirable standard for all to aspire. Although nothing can replace his loss, I hope that his legacy of “paying rent” provides some solace and comfort. He lived a life of making positive contributions.
God Bless,
