William C. Lawson, 90 of Mechanicsburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, April 3, 2015 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 16, 1924 in Waynesville, Ohio. He served his country in the United States Army AirForce during WWII, receiving 2 Bronze Medal of Valor. On February 2, 1946 he married Kathryn Edwards. Later on, they enjoyed traveling with their children mainly in the western part of the United States especially Washington where they visited relatives. Florida was also a favorite state, but probably their most memorable vacation was a trip to Alaska in 1963.

Bill retired as a supervisor with International Harvester.

Bill was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg; the Mechanicsburg Lodge # 113 F. & A. M., where he served as past grand master; the Order of Eastern Star,

He is survived by his daughters Kathy (Gary) Brannon of Urbana, Brenda (Dave) Rice of Springfield, son Bill (Cindy) Lawson of Clarence Center, New York, granddaughters Wendy (Marc) Holt of South Vienna, Dr. Courtney (Dave) Johnson of Marysville, grandson John Pemberton of Boling Brook, Illinois, great granddaughter Hillary Dixon of Springfield, a special nephew Ed (Peggy) Foulk of Springfield, sister Betty Smith (Tom) Peters, of Mechanicsburg, nephews Jim (Racille) Smith of Urbana, John (Ann) Smith of Mechanicsburg, niece Robi (Steve) Zirkle of St. Paris plus other nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Rosa McClure of Arizona.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Cyrus and Mary (McKinney) Lawson, his wife, Kathryn A. (Edwards) Lawson, daughter, Kathy Brannon, brother, Fred Lawson and sister, Rosa McClure.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 in the SKILLMAN MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicsburg; where Masonic services will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Harley Roston officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mutual. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 238 Mechanicsburg. A luncheon will follow at the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church, 42 N. Main St., Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044.
