William “Bill ” Snider, 71, of South Vienna, Ohio passed away at the Ohio State Medical Center on August 12, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born on September 22, 1944 to Raymond Snider and Kathryn (Davis) Snider. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a long time member of Mechanicsburg Baptist Church. He worked for Reiter’s Diary for many years until his retirement. He was a wonderful owner and caretaker of his beloved dogs as they were considered part of his loving family. Bill also was very creative with his woodworking skills and loved to create different things that his friends and family always enjoyed. He was a man of few words but all who knew him loved and respected him as he did not need to say much to be completely understood. He was totally devoted to his family and will be sadly missed by family and friends who knew and respected his gentle ways. As our hearts ache for the physical loss of him we will find solace knowing that he is now with God. He is at peace and for that we are grateful.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Ruth ( McCabe ) Snider; daughters, Linda (Rick) Cordle and Barbara (Gary) Stout; grandchildren, Ricky (Jessica), Katie, Michael (Emily), Shawna, John, William, Caitlin, Danielle (Carlos), Jeremy and Shane; great-grandchildren, Maya, Lila, Zoey, Sophia, Baylen, Adleigh, Kaleigh, Isabel and Kaci; siblings, Phyllis (Ed) Stiltner and brother, Richard (Joyce) Snider in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Mary Woolever and second sister, Jean Litterell in addition to two great grandchildren, Kaden and Kristin.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in the Mechanicsburg Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Salee officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
