Wilson E. “Bud” Lee, 92 of Dublin Retirement Village, passed away, Monday, February 8, 2010 in the Dublin Methodist Hospital.
He was born October 28, 1917 in Woodstock, Ohio the oldest son of the late Edward and Ida Mae (Jester) Lee.
He graduated from Woodstock High School in 1935. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth of 72 years, until her passing on October 7, 2009.
Bud spent his younger years as a farmer in Champaign County before moving to Columbus in 1962. He started Bud Lee Pool Service in 1969 and was known nationally for his work and offices held in the pool / spa industry as well as building award winning pools. He was a 50 year member of the North Lewisburg Eastern Star, a 50 year 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Aladdin Shrines and a member of the Maize Manor United Methodist Church.
Bud and Ruth spent many winters at their Naples, FL home. He was an avid golfer and OSU fan who loved tailgating and Saturday games.
Bud is survived by his sister, Emily Paterson of Panama City Beach, FL, his brother, Raymond “Dick” Lee of Urbana, his daughters, Phoebe and Ken Myers of St. Paris and Sara Ramsey and Clyde Welch of Hilliard, his son, Roger and Sue Lee of Columbus, his grandchildren, Penney, Kent, Steve, Star, Randy, Marsha, Linda, Lana, Kim, Tina and Scott, as well as 23 great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Bud is also preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Wayne Lembke, his brothers, Don and Gene and his sisters, Hazel Rigdon, Catherine Harris, Marjory Culp and Alice Henry.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, 257 W. Main St., Mechanicsburg, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg at the family convenience.
