Wolfgang B. Courths, 50 of North Lewisburg, Ohio passed away, Thursday, September 3, 2009 in his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 18, 1959 in Berlin, Germany. Wolfgang was a 1978 graduate of Fairbanks High School. He was part of the production staff at Honda of America in Marysville. Wolfgang was an avid Ohio State University fan, especially basketball and football and he enjoyed his favorite cat, Fatty Gray Pants.
Wolfgang is survived by his wife, Shari (Hodge) Courths, his mother, Christel & Elmer Combs of Milford Center, OH, his father, Bernd & Dorit Courths of Berlin, Germany, his sisters, Michele Kowalik of Plain City, Tanja (Don) Woda of Delaware & Petra (Michael) Neer of Germany, his brothers, Roger (Mary) Combs of Columbus & Ilja (Anja) Courths of Germany; his grandmothers, Audrey Combs of Rosedale and Lieselotte Courths of Berlin, Germany, his mother-in-law, Judy Foster of North Lewisburg, sister-in-laws, Valerie (Randy) Tomlin of North Lewisburg & Pamela Stokes of Cable, several nieces & nephews, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Erwin and Frieda Simon of Berlin, Germany; paternal grandfathers, Elmer W. Combs of Rosedale and Eugen Courths of Berlin, Germany; and father-in-law, Larry Foster.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2009 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2009 in the funeral home with the Pastor Lloyd Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Wolfgang’s memory.
Wolf’s family would like to thank Dr. Filix Kencana, the chemo nurses and the entire staff of the Springfield Regional Cancer Center for their compassionate care and support.
