Woodrow Wilson Davis, age 92, of Urbana died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in Community Hospital of Springfield.
He was born February 18, 1916 in Circleville, Ohio the son of Jefferson and Nellie Fry (Lindsey) Davis.
He had worked most of his life at the paper Mill including location in Tennessee, Illinois, Florida and Urbana among others. He was a member of the Urbana United Methodist Church. He was a very loving husband to Gladys Olivia (Zerkle) Davis for 72 years.
He is survived by nieces, Winnie (Marion) Stokes of Urbana
Pat (Bill) McKenzie of Fairborn
Shirley (John) Rice of St. Paris
Ned Davis of Urbana
Linda (York) Khalil of California
Gregg (Susan) Davis of North Carolina
Jeanne Davis of Florida
Irene Willis of St. Paris,
Jed Landenburg of Conover,
great nieces, Ondalee (Anthony) Goings of Urbana, with whom Woodrow resided,
Sharon Quisenberry of St. Paris,
and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by, his parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2008 in the Vernon Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Paul Jones officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
